Default If You Could Start Your Own Tracker What Would It Be?

Let's say you're in an ideal situation: You have $5000, a group of friends who are willing to staff, and a kickass coder who can make your site look amazing and work like a well oiled machine. What tracker would you create and why?

    Mine:

    CrimeScene

A "crime" related tracker for documentaries on organized crime (Mafias), shows like CSI, NCIS, Law & Order, Cops, etc. as well as gangster movies. Scene releases only hence the "scene" in the name. A highly customized ratio-based system built around file retention would go in place here.

    SoundLab

A music producer's heaven. Programs like Reason, FL Studio, Sony Acid, etc. would be there as well as production packs from every genre imaginable. Music sheets would be added, guides for certain techniques, as well as legal documentation for those who want to sell their music. It will be pack based for the most part so it would be ratioless but a minimum seed time of 30 days would be in effect.

I can't think of anything else at the moment, but I'll add more when I think of em

The tracker I start would be "terrible" but that's not a category xD.

I would start one all about FLAC. Very generous bonus point system, but more so like BTN's, ensuring long seeding and retention. It would have a logchecker like what.cd's, and only 100% FLAC rips would be allowed. Also, no scene stuff. Everything has to be homemade. It would all be straight ratio, besides the bonus points, and would run on Gazelle, because it's purdy.

Subtract the generous bonus point system and this sounds eerily familiar

I forgot to add what code base I'd use though. TBDev pwns Gazelle

personally, i would like to have a what.cd-style movie tracker. as in, a movie tracker which is a one-stop shop and has basically every movie you can think of. at the moment, there is no one movie tracker which covers all bases when it comes to content.

two other trackers i'd like to see, and in both cases people have already tried and failed to create them.

first, a webmaster templates/scripts/graphics tracker. torrent-script and creative-bits have both tried, but both trackers failed. templatep2p is good, but i'd like to see a tracker, particularly for larger files which are a hassle to download from rapidshare etc without a premium account.

secondly, i'd like to create a good standup comedy tracker. again, comic releech and cryptichaven have both tried, and while cryptichaven's still going, it really doesn't have much depth of content. i'd like to have a tracker which has a large selection of comedians' standup shows, and has a variety of comedians from different countries, and features a lot of up-and-coming comedians, not just the big names. a lot of old standup shows which haven't been released on dvd (vhsrips) would be fantastic too.

however, unless osd is willing to bankroll these ideas, they will remain as merely pipedreams....

On topic: what i would like is something on the lines of iTS and x264, quality rips over scene, with a lot of 576p encodes and encourage every user to try learning how to encode, the content could be anything as long as it was good, and at any resolution, but, again, with the 576p focus. Probably ratioless, or with a light ratio rule, but encouraging seeding forever and with a big userbase, not a small tracker.
    Gazelle based.

    Correct.

I didn't mean a complete clone, just that if you strip both of them down they're only tv trackers. BTN is competing for members which is shown by their "unique aspects". It's like comparing red grapes and green ones imo.

Nah, there wouldn't be this thread if I had that much cash to throw around. Those ideas would be trackers ;)

Guys, this is a discussion on what kind of tracker you want to create. Not the legitimacy, survivability, or overlap of current trackers.
If you want to debate that go open a thread in the Brain Stew section.

As of right now - put this back on topic, all off topic posts are being deleted.

How is that offtopic? I am appalled that we have dozens of threads filled with junk spam such as "best <insert niche here> tracker" with 9 pages of worthless replies and my posts were deleted as offtopic when they were actually intelligently written posts that ARE related to what the topic is about, albeit not in a zombie post count up formulated way.

"Guys, this is a discussion on what kind of tracker you want to create. "

Given the circumstances written above ($5000, expertise, etc) I wouldn't want to create ANY tracker, because of reasons listed in my "offtopic" posts. Further, I noted why in my humble opinion, your motivation to start a tracker would be a pointless waste of money due to reasons listed in said posts as well.

I agree with Brenden on the first half of his post. It's my thread and I for one think the little debate we had going on was still on-topic for the most part. I'd report him if I thought he was just bs'ing, but he wasn't unlike the majority of the posts in this section. If the only area where an intelligent debate can happen is in the think tank I think I'm on the wrong forum...

Ahem. The title suggests this is purely imagination, and just because you don't have $5000, doesn't mean you can't think. Your last post is off topic, and so is mine. It would be nice if everyone could just post fun tracker ideas.

Edit: My post refer's to Brenden's.
