Thread: I have some Questions about What.cd for there users

I am really interested in joining what.cd but i heard that the interview that they make you take there is really hard to pass, so I was wondering it the ever have open sign-ups or any advice anyone could give me would be great

No open sign ups. The interview is not that hard if you are serious about music. Just study up on their wiki page that they give to you, and if you fail, look up the ones you got wrong. I got in after failing once. It also depends on the admin that you get. Some will ask general knowledge, and some are complete pricks and ask lots of 'gotcha' questions, like "What is the bitrate of a standard FLAC?"

Bandersnatch pretty much covered it. Though interviewers are not neccesarily admins. Mostly elite+ users that volunteer. And in my experience, very few people, if any, are total pricks on what.
But yeah, if you study the hydrogenaudio wiki enough to understand the difference between lossy and lossless, acceptable transcodes (only lossy to lossless), CBR and VBR , and the various formats, as well as be able to read spectrals, you should have no problems passing.
What is pretty hard to seed, due to the very small amount of peers. You ll need to upload to survive there, unless you re on a really fast home connection or a seedbox with good peering. And you ll need to know most of the stuff you ll learn if you want your uploads to be up to their standards!
Also, if you fail and try again, don't lie about it!

What is hard to seed, but be patient and when they have the freeleech staff picks, grab as many torrents , of all formats, as you can and seed. with a decent connection you can make many GBs upload buffer.
They have staff picks quite often.

the site What.CD: A Beginner's Guide has ALL the information you need. i passed after failing once. just make sure you understand everything there and you will do fine. What.cd is totally worth it if your a music lover. and seeding isnt too hard if you seed every snatch forever. i speedtest at 2mbps up and have a 2.4 ratio

Yea it looks like I am going to do a lot of studying then because I never see invites on here and someone told me that they were banned from being given away on here, I'm just afraid that I will end up failing and I really don't want to mess up my chances because if you fail 3 times your banned from interviewing again.
But I do have a seedbox so if I get in that shouldn't be a problem since I download and seed everything. it just sucks there are no open sign-ups ever

THAT IS FINE YOU CAN CLOSE THIS THREAD BUT LET IT BE KNOWN THAT I WAS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM TRYING TO GET AROUND THE REQUEST RULES, I KNOW THE RULES HERE AND I KNOW THAT WHAT.CD INVITES ARE NOT GIVEN OUT HERE. I WANTED INFORMATION FROM MEMBERS ABOUT THE SITE. I AM A GOOD MEMBER HERE I GIVE OUT INVITES AND I FOLLOW THE RULES.
