Thread: Why do people still use tracker userbars?

Just thought I'd bring this up for discussion. I still see people who have a lot of tracker userbars in their signature and I wonder why. What is the point of a userbar and why do people still use them? Is it to show that they are a member of a tracker that has thousands of other members just like them? Is it to brag about the special user class they spent a lot of time earning at those trackers?



I remember userbars being popular back in the old days when i got started, that was either in 2007 or 2008. It was a fad that didn't last too long with the members who knew better, after awhile it became uncool to have userbars in your signature or even bad because it could be a sign of collecting.

Personally I think they're just kind of cool ways to say that you are a part of something. I wouldn't use one, but it's kind of like tagging something, or wearing a Coke T-Shirt.

'cause userbars are cool like wearing flip-flops with socks, having a mullet and dancing to the beat of disco...OH YEAHHH (Austin Powers imitation).

Having a userbar in your sig, just means to that person they like showing what they are a part of. I do not think it is for bragging reasons at all, but just like bandernatch said, its like wearing a brand t-shirt. Some people still think they are cool. Who are we to tell them they cant like something, who are we to judge and bitch at them for their signature. If they want one or 20 i say go for it!

its just for show, people just want to show appreciation.

maybe people just wanna show some love for the tracker they like?

Becuase the appeal of the harder to get trackers is arguably more contributive to status than any real advantage over other trackers.
