Ratio.. Change from DL/UP to DL/Time seeding
So, I've just recently gotten involved with private trackers and the whole ratio system, its so hard to move that up, even if I want to.. it's just not working too well, there's way too many seeders, so few leechers. I think there should be either a new system or a modification at least. I propose one:
Maybe instead of amount dl'ed/up'ld there should be dl'ed(amount)/time seeding. Make an hour of seeding equivalent to maybe 10MB or 20MB, who knows.. let the community determine the value of time.

that's kind of hard to do I guess, too much work! and that's no really fair in my opinion because leechers can put just one seed, limit upload to 1kbps and keep that way. In one month they can "upload" kind of 14gb this way! for just one file!

I guess it all depends on the tracker staff and it's beliefs. There are a bunch of trackers that don't require ul/dl ratio, but rather seeding time. When a tracker is setup that way, as edupa said, there will always be those bad apples that seed at a bare minimum. The people who take and don't give back ruin it for everyone else.

Why make it easier for leechers/people with crappy connections?

This is a two way street isn't it guys! Sounds good in the offset to implement this Change from DL/UP to DL/Time seeding but the down side is what edupa and Ureshii is saying!!! Leechers would really have a field day with the system! ;)

I think they both should be on cause the more important thing is UPLOAD amount in short time

Yeah, introduce the time into tracker's ratio is really interesting. Maybe not take out the amount of upload, but just add the time factor. Like the average time seeding per torrent.
