Ok, so SSD's are still fairly new and prices for a good sized Solid State Drive can exceed into the thousands. But.... Seagate has released a new hybrid drive called the "Momentus XT" which combines HDD with SSD for a quarter of the price.

For about the price of one 320GB momentus xt hybrid drive you can get 2 wd caviar blue 500GB put them in raid 0 and have better performance and 1 TB of space.

Don't these drives have a high failure rate like other seagate drives?

i am willing to buy one for $100 nothing more as i do agree getting a 2tb for 79 usd is far cheaper but i my option the performance of the above product is worth spending the money....

but thats just me out there

Are these things worth buying? Or would it just be better to save up the difference to get a ssd?
