30GB? is that even any use these days?
    i got a 64GB falcon 2 and it's far too tiny.
it sure is fast though. noticable faster loading games than my 3 disk raid 0.

thanks for you update maxwell but i'm not sure if sacrificing a sata port is worth it for 30GB.

I can't recommend an SSD enough. I bought the 60GB Vertex when it was on sale about 3 months ago and I am so impressed. I have never bought a single piece of hardware that has improved my performance more than this item. You can double your RAM, buy the next fastest processor, overclock, water cool, etc.. but nothing will speed up your load times like going SSD.

On a side note, my SSD with a normal program load and Win7 64 fully updated runs about 32GB. I also have a netbook with a 16GB SSD that still has about 3-4 GB left over after a minimal OS load and minimal program load. You can fit a current gen OS on this thing but I would personally recommend going with a 60 or 80 GB if possible.

SSD drives are decent enough to run your OS on, but I'm waiting for a moderately priced 250GB+ drive.

Till the price of mlc ssd's come down. The interesting advancement for price per GB and speed on loading is the hybrid Seagate 500gb w/the smart loading software, 4 gb fast flash memory. The read and load speeds are on par with the OCZ and with write speeds that beat the 10,000rpm hdd(raptor). The price falls between the standard hdd and the ssd. The 1 I tested was impressive for the $130.00, but......noisy and reliability is questionable. So keep our eyes on this one in the 4th quarter of the year :)
