I'm going to start my first tutorial here so bear with me. It's pretty basic but may help someone.
This is how to take a video file that's in avi, mkv, ect.... format and change it to an iso that can be burned to DVD.
I'll be using ConvertXtoDVD v4.1
1) Start by selecting the green plus symbol.

2) Find the video file that you want to convert and press open. The file will be added to the white box on the left. To add several files, just press the plus sign again and add more files.

3) Optional: Press the plus sign next to DVD options. Here you can change many options including the name of your DVD as well as the menu template.

4) Optional: Next press the plus sign next to the title. Here you can edit subtitles, format, language ect....

5) If you go to settings->general you can change many settings including where you want the final ISO to go. You can click the tab "encoding" and enable two pass encoding. You can change the target size of the DVD from DVD-5 (standard single layer DVD) to DVD-9 (dual layer that holds twice the info).

6) When you have all of the settings the way you want them, click convert.

7) When it's complete you'll see this:

8) Navigate to the folder you selected in step 5 and you should see an ISO (image file) with the title of your video file. Open this with your DVD burning software ( I like Nero) and burn it to a DVD.

This should cover the basics to get you going. Not all steps need to be completed each time.
Hopefully I'll start a tutorial on Nero next to take it from here.
