Default Beginners Guide To Encoding BRRips

    Firstly, download XviD4PSP

You MUST have a proper source to use eg x264 720p bluray

Now press 'Open', and select your .mkv bluray file, and press ok.

Now go to 'AviSynth' tab, and press 'Create auto script'

You'll see many options on the left hand side of the application, e.g Format, Denoise/Sharpen etc, you want the format to be AVI and leave the Denoise option as DVD exelent MT, Brightness is disabled (unless you want to tweak it, but you won't need to), Video encoding is XviD HQ Ultra, and Audi encoding is AC3 (you can choose what k you want, i chose 384k)

Now, go to the tab above and click 'Video', and go down the list and select 'Resolution/Aspect'

CHANGE the output resolution, you want it to be 720x304 400 (you decide what the 2nd one should be) but 304 400 is ideal. Leave everything else as it is unless you want to crop the video.

Press the button 'E' which is next to the Video Encoding option, and this will come up:

Now you can choose Codec, i chose x264, now you want to have a good size for the BRRip, so i'm choosing 2.20GB's as the quality is above 0.179 (it goes to 0.275) Grin You should choose 1 pass bitrate, if you do you should have a bitrate of about 1900 as the size stays below 2.5 gigs. If you choose 2-pass size, simply enter you desired for the output file, e.g 2275.9 MB

you can do the same for audio encoding, press E and choose what Codec you want and the bitrate Smiley

You can go to 'Configure' too and choose different audio channels, i kept mine intact

Now, simply save the file, and press 'Encode', and you are off Wink

Simple, fast, effective and good for n00bs

Now if you can do this and its good quality its a start and i need you.......Once you get used to it we'll show you megui which is way better but bit harder to master

    Enjoy the Tut

Megui is a really good software and extremely helpful tutorail. But really heavy on the processors literally burns them up when using Megui

what do you think of Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate 6, as its pretty easy to us and has all the megui options and avsynth in the from of gui menu.

    cheers.

I really like Xilisoft too, but I always get errors when trying to convert HD content. It always says status: failed. I am using version 7 if that makes any difference.
