    Double clicking the file indirectly extracts the file to a temporary folder then running it. It is still considered as extraction. It would be impossible to play the file if there is no extraction taking place. Some players like VLC players basically does it in chunks, that's why it's still possible to play it without extracting.

    In Win 7, just open the .rar file with VLC and it plays the entire file for you

    Done.

    Didn't work for me. I tried it every which way and can't get them to play without unzipping. Are you sure you don't need a special codec with VLC?

    On my rather old PC there's always a little hick-up while it's going from one archive to the next.
    I will keep unzipping everything, it's just annoying when a video freezes every few minutes even when it's just for half a second.
