    Default [Closed] Staff Recruitment

Mod Edit: Applications are closed for now.

We are currently looking for Sectional Mods to help us maintain the forums. Positions are available for each of the following subforums:

    • The Help Desk
    • The Think Tank

Applicants should be at minimum 55%, speak and write clear English, and be willing to devote at least an hour per day to TI. Being able to code is a huge advantage. However, don't be afraid to apply even if you can't code - heck, I can't! ;)

Please post a brief paragraph here explaining why you think you are qualified for this position. Also, be sure to tell us the forums you are interested in modding and tell us why you think you'd be a good fit for that section.

Intro Mods and Sectional Mods are given first consideration for later promotions, halfop in the IRC, and general respect on the forum.

    Get applying!

I'd love to be a section mod for the help desk, as one of my favorite things to do is to read the suggestions new people to the site are coming up with. It's great to see how interested the community is in bettering T-I, not only with suggestions but through helping each other solve problems, and writing tutorials/reviews. As a mod I'd be able to help with that by keeping clutter and useless posts down, and discouraging people for flaming one another for their ideas. I don't have any experience coding, but I do have a lot of experience in the area of being a great member of T-I. I'd be able to devote quite a bit more than an hour a day to the duties.

    Thanks for your consideration :)

Need help? PM me and I'll find you the answer.

    Hi,

I would like to apply for a Jr mod position would be happy to moderate anywhere really but if I had to choose I would say the think tank as that is where I mostly have been posting, apart from helping in the intros.
I do have mod experience from other forums, one that I've actually got an admin role from being a humble user that climbed the ladder. Also have created some forums myself for rpg's, but I cant code I used to ask other people to do it for me.

Well, I haven't been here too long but I must say it's a great community. I couldn't think of a better way to give back than by becoming a mod. So, here we go:

I would like to become a mod for The Help Desk. The reason being is I love this specific category, reading other people's problems and helping them out. It's my favourite category on every single forum I use, by far the most interesting. If for some reason I can't I keep a close eye to see the solution, and a lot of the time it helps me in the future. I have a good memory that way :)

I love working in a team, all throughout my life I've developed websites with a partner(s), played team sports and done things as a group. I'm a team player, what can I say.

I've been a mod in my past on a forum with around 10k users and there's nothing better than the bond of the mods. I can only imagine the mods here have an even better bond. I have the past experience, so I know the demands of the position and what it takes to do it properly.

I can code and design. I'm fluent in HTML and CSS, and working my way up the PHP ladder, I've done a couple projects before with C# as well (screen capturer, email spoofer)

That's it for me; thanks for reading and possibly considering me, take care. Sorry that it's not a brief paragraph either, I just don't believe that it's possible to explain why I deserve said position in such a short limit.

I have a hard time deciding whether I want to apply for Area 51 or the Think Tank because I spend a good amount of time in both. My first slight preference would be Area 51 since that I have a lot of experience in that kind of thing. I believe anyone who has read my posts here or at other forums can acknowledge that I write well and I put a lot of thought into most of posts. Part of that comes from my writing background, both in college and on my own, and from my high standards for quality posting. I'm not a huge fan of spam but obviously I will follow the forums rules about it and not be too hard on anyone.

I spend a lot of time at T-I already. I check the forums from school and home, regularly lurk and sometimes chat in the irc, and try to help members with requests when I can even though I don't have a ton of invites or sites. I'm very experienced and I've been involved with forums & trackers behind the scenes before. Lately though I've just been a normal member and sometimes I miss not being more involved. I try to educate people and give them some of the knowledge I have gained from my years in the game. Started in private trackers in 2007 but have been filesharing since the days of napster.

I'm sorry that wasn't a brief paragraph; I could write a lot more but I'll stop myself. I would like to end by saying I've got a lot of freetime these days and nothing to do with it, what with no job and not doing much at school. Also I took webdesign in school, so I know some coding and I've tried to teach myself a little on the side too.

Well, I am free these days from studies so I visit TI forum like hundreds of times a day just to update myself with the new things posted here. I would like to apply for area 51. This is probably because rules for that section are very clear and straightforward and also because its the most active and interesting section. I cannot code, but I've been a mod at a gaming forum before I stepped down due to personal reasons.

Well, I am still relatively new to the forums, as you all are aware. I like to help people a lot of the time, so I would like to apply for the Area 51 position of the forums

I feel that I would be able to keep track of the cheaters and scamming 'members' on the forums because I got the eyes to catch the scams, but the patience to fix the problems and find the cause of it. I feel that there are many scams on forums that are unseen, but can I perfect it? No, but can WE as a team? Yes!!

I am also an artist (specifically digital cartoonist at the moment), and I am very proud of it. I love to draw whenever I have nothing to do, and post what I have to show. I love art, and I appreciate it like no tomorrow, which also leads to the question "why do I pirate?" It is because I cannot afford anything that I pirate. Art is the only exception because it is my gift, it is my life.

I also spend about 3-4 hours a day on T-I roaming the forums, helping the intros section. I recently started to help the intros section, giving advice to newer members that need rep to post on the forums. I feel that it is important to be active on the forums because it teaches you how to act positive in certain areas of life.

Thank you admins, again, for opening up the application. Everybody, good luck for the positions!!

JustJenna, thank you for this opportunity and I would like to apply to be an Area 51 mod. I would actively check the giveaways and requests to see if anything is wrong. As you may know, I am active in the IRC as well. I am over 55%, and I do speak English quite fluently, as it is my first language. Hopefully my infractions do not disqualify me from this position. Again, thank you for this opportunity and good luck to all of the other members who applied or will apply in the near future.

High degree of activity in the Area 51 section, independent of other forum activity. I would do this.
Active browsing through the entirety of the section (not just waiting for posts to be reported). Obviously, I would too.
Good English and strong written communication skills English is my first language as stated earlier in the post.
IRC activity is encouraged Very active on our IRC.
A thorough understanding of the rules of the section, as written in the invite GA guide. I understand them fully.
    Consistency in moderation of posts.

I'd like to withdraw my application. I don't think I've been active enough to earn a staff position. I'll be more active and hope to be accepted next time T-I is looking for new staff.

    Good luck to everyone applying!

    Hi,

first of all I'm not seeking for the title. I'm spending a lot on T-I every day, doing nothing. I have no interest in any tracker, I'm satisfied with my current trackers and want to take full atention to them, but I'm comeing every day to T-I, just reading threads, idealing on IRC, so I want to contribute something to this community. I know that I dont have 1000 posts, or couple of hundreds iGivers, but I dont thing that that is important. I would like to become mod on The Think Tank section, there is a lot of interesting topics, so I will have many things to moderate :P and also that will fill my time spent on T-I.

I think that this is enough from me. :D

    Bye
