Thread: Cipher Winner Announced!

Hello T-I!

New member Chapstick has solved the cipher and won the VIP prize. As the sole solver of the puzzle, he he has duly impressed us with his wit and skill. Everyone congratulate Chapstick on being the smartest guy in T-I... for now, of course. ;)

I am sure many of you are wondering how the puzzle was solved. Here is how it broke down:



Clue # 1
The first is simple, a colour you need
Let it be easy is what you plead
A rock star she is known to be
That’s all you are getting out of me

Answer: p!nk
Just like the rockstar herself, P!nk chooses to stylize her name with the exclamation mark - and so we did too.

Clue #2

As for the second you’ll need to dance,
Look for the man with the weird pants
A dancing icon he used to be
A tapping stick to you and me

Answer: hammer
Known for his baggy pants and odd dancing style, MC Hammer was one of the first rappers of our time.

Clue #3

And so it is, this is the last,
One hint you get, do not read fast,
Combine your answers for the key
As for the cipher, look in a tree
It was the thing that tricked our Eve
And no, it wasn’t hid up any sleeve

Now Clue #3 told you what to do with clue 1 and 2, which was to combine the terms to form the popular TI phrase "Pink Hammer", referring to yours truly. ;) This phrase became the key you would need to decipher the encrypted wall of text.

As for the cipher, look in a tree
It was the thing that tricked our Eve

This passage refers to a Serpent, the biblical snake famous for tricking Eve in the Garden of Eden. After you knew the type of cipher used, a bit of googling should lead you to this site:

Once decrypted the wall of text became this:

Ya that was amazing. I tried for ten minutes and had no clue what to do so I gave up. You're a genius sir! And now VIP! Enjoy!

I have to say I'm impressed by the actual game itself. That was a very clever and tricky riddle, well worth giving out VIP. I'm looking forward to the next one now!

It was really interesting conquest and though i couldn't solve it i'm happy to congrats Chapstick with his prize and wish him to be a good VIP member of T-I, enjoy it man!!!
