Thread: The Newest Exalted to Ascend

It is my pleasure to announce that the lovely and talented Hummingbird is the latest to join the ranks of The Exalted. Hummingbird not only solved the puzzle first, she did it in record time - beating out the rest by days. Her contributions to T-I have been innumerable. A member now for just under a year (tomorrow marks her one year anniversary as a member of T-I), she has devoted many hours working in the intro section and lending her help in our support channel. We are proud to welcome her to the highest and most elite rank T-I has to offer. Everyone please join me in giving her a warm welcome and a round of e-applause.

I would also like to congratulate the other members of the forum who solved the puzzle. Lets tip our hats to the following members, whose brains exceed my own:

No doubt any of these fine members would make outstanding additions to the Exalted but alas only one can ascend... maybe next time, guys...

Now I'm sure many of you are wondering how the puzzle was solved. Here's how it broke down.



The key was a five digit number. To get the key you had to count the number of subforums in each section of the forum and form them into a five digit number. For instance, the couch has 9 visible forums, the marketplace has 7, etc etc...

Therefore, the key must be 97221.

You then took that key and plugged it into a cipher website known as Blowfish. Once the key and the large block of hexadecimal text was entered, you were brought to a riddle. The answer to that riddle was: "a sentence".

To those of you who didn't get it, never fear... The Exalted will surely bring us a new riddle to solve soon. Until then, Que Sera Sera and enjoy the invites.

Congrats Hummingbird and welcome to the ranks of the exalted. To all those that didn't ascend this time, don't worry there will be other opportunities I'm sure, but well done on solving it. To those that didn't solve it but had a go, look at it this way - you have now experienced another cipher, you know what they say practise makes perfect, so don't get discouraged and have a go at the next one if The Exalted One decides to do one :)

Congrats! Record time, eh? Beating out the others by days?! Damn. Luckily I didn't try to solve it. It probably would have taken me days and I would have pulled out my hair like many others before me.

A hearty congrats to hummingbird! I did ponder quite a bit on this riddle, and even though I failed to solve it, it was fun trying. Looking forward to the next one :)
