Thread: [Cancelled] Logo comp

Admittedly I was working on a logo for this site from before this competition started, but its difficult to build a logo out of nothing, I started some sketches and theses were the basic ideas I started with:

A community that only works with its own members.
-Right off the bat, Animals that travel in groups. Wolves, Ants, Birds, Elephants, Fish... Any of them could have easily became our mascot if we were going for the mascot route.
-Anything else that works has power in numbers, Gears in a piece of machinery, Native Americans, things of this nature.
-Karma, the ying yang symbol, or anything else that demonstrates cause and effect.



Then I thought of what else makes "Torrent invites" 'Torrent invites'?... got the members down, we are a community that need each other to work properly...Exclusivity? We are here as members to gain invites from each other, to INVITE each other to what would other wise would be EXCLUSIVE websites.
-First thing i thought of was an the mail icon, the little rectangle with the V in it. Then I thought of a Top Hat. A cup of tea. A crown. These are a few of the many symbols of that can represent exclusivity.

After that I sketched a bird with a top hat. Why? because we have that many directions to go with within this project, Every good logo you see has a root and a meaning... the meanings can be vague, but they are they're.

So with the abundance of options and lack of motivation I stopped my process there. I think it should be up to the founders of the site to have a chat and think about what makes them them. How did this whole thing come together?

I just thought of a sick one, how about a white gear and a black gear that comes close to the ying yang thing. maybe instead of black it can be blue, or orange. Color, thats another ordeal.

Alot of potential.

Ofcourse there was alot more that i've done to come to theses few points but I cleaned my room recently and I'm not sure if i have the original sketches anymore, sorry captain. I would've posted them here with this very post to start getting this boat rocking. Because this logo has been something thats been going on for a lil while now. And it don't need no competition to give TI the identity it deserves :]
