Wow, this is a very creative approach to the issue and it has a lot of promise!!

From a quick scan in the intro section I saw one post with proofs and the proofs posted had the tracker username displayed and the tracker username matched the T-I username. Again, this was from teh only poster I found who actually followed Dave's suggestion of posting a proof!!

I would really suggest that we have the intro posters fill out a form that ensures they understand the bare minimum requirements to be a member here. If they can fill out the form correctly and post a proof they are doing better than the vast majority of new members and can repped to be allowed entry. This would dramatically improve the gene pool on the site.

I consider the whole issue of using the same userid here as on trackers to be a major one (especially as we get a higher profile in the wider community). We really need some way to ensure people have not signed up with the same userid as their trackers. We could simply ask the question in the intro form and hope nobody lies. I expect the vast majority of peope who use the same userid simply do so out of ignorance to the risk (I know I did when I first signed up...).

    My two cents...

Hey if they wanna risk getting banned let them.

But really it's not that major in my opinion. I recently got banned from TL(!) for no reason whatsoever. It was a new account with a 2 ratio and like 3GB uploaded. And I got banned. It's probably because they somehow found out that I'm here, although I have no idea how as I use a different name.

I'm not that concerned with them getting banned unless I give an invite and it leads to me getting banned (whcih them using teh same username can do...). I try to keep squeaky clean because I value my accounts on my trackers. If the site manages these basic risks then I will not have to on every give away...

Light bulb moment: can we make it a requirement that in order to rep someone in you have to be a member of the tracker they post a proof of and you are responsible for ensuring that their T-I username is not registered on that tracker (just takes a quick member search)? This will help ensure that we are not letting in members that could get us banned when we share invites with them.
