Thread: Rep Cheating

It has come to the attention of the staff that rep cheating is running rampant in our forums. Site reputation is meant to build trust and instill faith in our members. Abusing the system is a serious matter and one that will not be taken lightly.

Rep collecting will not be tolerated in any format or through any means. Any user found posting a fake giveaway as a means of collecting rep, and without any intention of distributing invites, can and will be banned permanently from our site. We understand that their are sometimes extenuating circumstances and that worthy candidates cannot always be found. However, giveaways will be closely monitored and suspected rep cheating will be investigated thoroughly. In case it is not already clear, no member is allowed to ask for or demand reputation, even as a condition of a giveaway. Reputation is earned not requested.

In addition...

The thanks button was installed as a means of cutting down on spam and rewarding useful posts. It is not meant to increase your friends' reputation unfairly, or for behind the scenes wheeling and dealing. I have seen people thanked for posts in the request section that say nothing more than "bump". This ends now. From this point forward anyone caught giving rep or thanks unfairly will face serious consequences, up to and including a permanent ban. Rep that is given or received unfairly will also be removed from the users reputation.



We take this situation very seriously and so should you. Gaming the system to increase your rep will only harm you in the long run. Treat T-I with respect and honesty, and in time you will have all the invites you desire. Cheat, scam and lie and you will find yourself on the unhealthy end of the ban hammer.

TranceX, rep and thanks are for ANY useful post, so please don't tell people its only for requests and giveaways. That is hardly the case. Leave the modding to the mods please.

Yesterday I gave an invite to a user and he wanted me to rep him for nothing in order to rep me back lol. I refused because it's against the rules and then he answered "This doesnt qualify for an igiver mate sorry" after applying for an invite on other threads where the iGiver was a rule lol.
I'm glad you are investigating rep cheating but it not happens only on (fake) invite giveaways

Thanks guys.....TI staff is doing a great job keeping the "Lamo's" out of TI.

I gave invite's to one of the fellow person's whom i invited to tracker and he said like u can also give me Igiver and say thanks in any my post, i was like why the hell should i say "thanks" to you, if ur getting an invite from me ?
I just ignored his request or whatever

I also wanted to ask a question, while browsing though the forums, i genuinely thank some people's posts, its not that they are always useful but it has some other factor like sometimes humor or maybe i like what the guy said, so i click it because i agree/liked what he said. So is this uhmm... some sorta cheating ?

Also i came across some posts which are pure *spams*, so can't we have a button like i disagree with the post like a uhmm.. maybe a Spam button or something sort of that ?

why not make the rep button give +1 regardless of who you are...
