lol. who will invites noobs? 4 persons? dont think that some staff members + 3-4 members\vips can invite all who wants it. if ull do TI by invitation only site will lose meaning

right now its just too public.

i dunno abt this idea...all it means is that the ppl who'll find it easiest to get in will be those who already have friends here...they can simply rep these ppl and get in then

I absolutely love this site, I just hate some some people participate within it...

The problem I have are the new users who come in and cant be bothered to read the give away rules and slowly drain the lifeblood away from the participating members. It is getting to the point where I don't even want to post low level invites because of the lameness I have to deal with. This is absolutely wrong as we are here to help each other out and the unwashed masses are spoiling it for others.

My suggestion is to leave the site open but have moderated signups. Anyone can request a membership but part of the process is showing some semblance of competency for the memebership (show a proof or two, sign-up userid is different than tracker ID, answer why you never post email address, etc). If new members could manage passing ths type of sign-up process I would be comfortable to give low level invites to any of them!!!

This is not that different than the sign-up process used by some other sites (What and GFT). Ensuring competent members wold reduce the workload on mods and inviters and would allow us to leave the site open at minimal risk (and thereby increase the profile of the site). Win-win anyone?

Now for the really crazy part, I would even be willing to be one of the new member screeners (to review their membership submission). I would be glad to do it as it would dramatically improve the quality of the membership (and reduce the chances of inviters getting banned by knobs who will not read the rules). I am sure there are others who would be quite willing to do this as well.

i am not agreeing on the part there should be invites as some maybe understood all this thing. ppl will signup here freely but we will choose if they can see the forum by giving em rep. if we don't think they r scammers or something bad i'm sure ppl will give em rep. they can show it by puting proofs on sign up thread amd say are they ever gonna give inv's, r they here for only HIT N' RUN ga. i feel more comfortable with ppl i know. all this midgets these days... not good. but still i don't mind this either. but maybe would be better if we had some not inv procces but recognition proces.

It's not invites. It's rep or recognition that they can see the rest of the forums.
