Oh boy... I sure hope the style sheets don't get modded.
If and all possible, when implementing the new theme, can you place the background images into <img src=> tags and attributes? I'll be creating a user based skins for people who's interested.
I hope this may interest some people...I know I've been having a blast for the past couple of days...

This is a huge problem for me. I have high resolutions and do not want to be on 800x600 to enjoy this forum. This is the main reason why I am on IRC more than the forums..I just can't stand it being so thin.
Please David, Please, make some wide templates as well. This shoulden't be too difficult, just a few changes to the theme would be needed.
Warning: I get bored. If you you let me be productive, I will do work for you.

The observable universe is 150 billion light-years (1 light-year = 10 Trillion Km) across with over 80 billion galaxies which have over 120 billion stars in each. You think we are alone?

Yeah, the fonts are way too small, even on 1280x1024. I guess I'm just gonna stick with the default style until that's fixed.
I'm using 1920x1080, font's are readable for me. You could always try ctrl and + to enlarge it a little until they sort it.

Hey, great new feature.. I tried the blackstream, it looks awesome, though im gonna agree, for me the fonts are a tad some and thin.. But none the less great theme.
Chunky
i liked it!! when banner finished will gonna be awesome!!!
On second thought, would it be possible to add a unique id to each sliced background piece and place the styles in the CSS opposed to the inline style. This would allow users to use/share/create themes with the Stylish plugin for Firefox. If not, then the <img src=> with an inline style would be fine as Stylish is capable of changing the src. As a matter of fact, I think these method would be easier to implement. Either method would be awsome nonetheless.
I don't mind doing the leg work at all if you guys don't have enough time with it. I'm not asking for access to anything, obviously for security reasons, but perhaps sliced images and a plaint-text HTML format of what you guys have come up with so I can play with it offline. Harmless stuff really.
For example:
Instead of: (inline style)
Change it to: (external CSS)<td valign="top" width="80" style="background-image:url('styles/ambient/wrapper_l.png')">
/*CSS */
#wrapper1
{
background-image:url('styles/ambient/wrapper_l.png');
}
--------------------------------------
<td id="wrapper1" valign="top" width="80">
Hey fellas,
While we're waiting to see the new themes, I've managed to make my own minus the background. I chose red and gold since red is my favorite color. Thanks to imageshack for hosting all the little .gifs and .pngs...lol
Just ignore the small leftover piece on top. This is just something I'm playing around with. BTW, if you guys are interested in the .PSD files, I don't mind sending them your way along with a few adjustments with the CSS.
Theres still some things left over which I haven't been able to get to.

Loving the blackstream theme, I personally think the fonts are ok at 1440x900, not too small just enough to make me concentrate more when reading something, instead of glossing over it
Tipping the Spear of Victory before an Army of Darkness,
she deals swift justice to whoever dare oppose her.
Possessing hidden power of untold measure,
she watches all who scurry beneath her gaze.
One may try to imitate her, but none will succeed,
for inclined to both limitless kindness and vengeance, She is at once,
our Hestia, "First and Last", and our Destruction.
She is ... The Esteemed Exalted Mistress.
