I voted Yes, I would like to see accounts still given to members here at T-I

I think of it like this, and remember, I am entitled to my own opinion, MY opinion, not any one Else's.

As long as it's a fresh account and there is no invite tree, and the email can be changed, I do not see any harm in it, If a user has an account, and invites are closed on the tracker, and the user does not want the account, why not give it to someone who will use and like it.

I stand by my decision, I have some accounts I would like to give away here, that I don't use. I am sure some one else would like and use them.

The one flaw I see is the ones with big buffers (over 50gig), Maybe these should be banned for the obvious reason.

Please don't bite my head off.

I am not selfish, there is no gain to me for keeping accounts on offer, I would just like to keep giving.

    Just my thoughts.

    Jack

I can kinda see where you are coming from, but at the end of the day, I think it probably leads to more trouble than its worth. Well I'm not really fussed, admins/mods on trackers probs care more about accounts than invites, and its best not to mess around with that sort of thing.

I can also see your point jack. But I would have to agree with noshamosh. Sounds like it would bring problems aswell, with requirements such as.. it hafta be possible to change mail.. Max XX GB buffert.. and this and that. I wonder if everyone would follow that, lol

I voted yes a few days because I received one of my favorite trackers through a account GA, but it was a fresh account. I thought people didn't usually GA higher level accounts because you couldn't change the email, and there would be nothing to gain from it but a igiver and a possible ban for the person who received it. I didn't think about it effecting the whole invite tree. I figured if people wanted to GA mid and lower level accounts it wouldn't matter because there are invites for those trackers everywhere anyway. For some reason it did not occur to me that some accounts given away would already have built up ratios that people could post as there own. Or that some people would get invites just to give away the account for a silly little igiver. I guess I wasn't thinking like a scammer. Now that I am a little wiser, I need to change my vote to no. There is nothing positive to gain from any of this except a igiver(unless you are giving it to a true friend or family member, which probably wouldn't happen very often). I will contact one of the mods to have my vote changed since this is such a serious issue and the poll is so close.

The only way this should be allowed to happen is if there were no igiver or rep points awarded for doing it. That would probably stop just about everyone from doing it since there would be nothing to gain.

    The numbers speak for themselves:

    YES Votes (17 members):
88% don't meet the new Trusted section requirement of 20 reps
    29% BANNED
    0 have 100+ Reps

    NO Votes (49 members):
    13 users with 100+ Reps
    3 Mods & Admins
3 with more Reps than all of the Yes voters combined
1 with more iGivers than all of the Yes voters combined
    0 BANNED

29% of Yes voters were banned in just the past 2 weeks. Now compare that to ZERO No voters banned in the same period. There's no doubt that users giving accounts away are a huge security risk and are extremely likely to lie, cheat, scam and trade. That is exactly why trading was banned. Plus, 99.3% of account GAs are for the bottom 3 tracker levels and almost 90% are for the bottom 2 levels (open signups & "just ask" invites).

Sraosha, did you have a chance to delete the votes of banned users? Here's a list of banned users that posted responses, but no doubt there are many more that only you can see (hidden poll):

    BANNED Users
    Dallas (corrected)
    DrAwesome (corrected)
    MoHa9 (corrected)
    Nobody is Here (corrected)

MOD EDIT: Banned members have no right to vote so their votes have been removed. If any member who has voted YES or NO has been banned (permanently), add it to the list.

Here are members that want their YES changed to NO. Were all of these votes updated as well?

    YES to NO Users
    n00bius (corrected)
    Openroads (corrected)
    OSX (corrected)
    Ravish (corrected)
    Fade (corrected)

IMO, it's not a smart idea to giveaway accounts invited by a member because he had your trust. May be it's unethical. But i think it's ok to giveaway account you got from free singup. For me, i have czone ( czteam) from open sign up, but i didn't use it at all for about a year already. If i can find a user who is interested in using czone, I'm willing to part my way with it. I think it makes sense.
