Thread: A general reminder to all our generous members

There has been an increase in people failing to editing their proofs correctly, using unapproved image hosts, posting profile links, and email addresses when applying for invites and such like. It would also seem that many members are quite happy to leave said things visible in their give away threads. This can and has led to people and their invite tree's being banned from their trackers.

It has also been noticed that many members are giving invites to 0% members via pm/email. Not only can this carry severe consequences such as the loss of your tracker accounts, but 0% members have NOT been through the screening process of introductions and therefore they are NOT actually permitted to apply for invites etc. in Area 51.

So to ALL members new and old, please:

• Ensure that any proofs you post are correctly edited as per this guide - Invite Giveaway Guide.
• Only use approved image hosts when posting your proofs - T-I Image Hosting (preferred), Imageshack.us or Imagebam.com.
• Police your own give away threads and report any emails, incorrectly edited proofs etc.
• REPORT any 0% member that pm's you asking for an invite etc.

REMEMBER - Tracker staff do frequent this forum and they will use all and any identifying information that is posted. If you lose your tracker account because of a lack of vigilance on your part then you really only have yourself to blame.
If you are not sure, don't give but REPORT IT!!

Nice. We needed a reminder about this, especially about the 0% members. I've seen a few of these requesting invites and I usually report them.

I was thinking to write a suggestion concerning this matter, might as well post it here.

I would like to suggest an addition of high paranoia security option.
In other words, adding a feature so when I edit and remove the ratio proofs and speedtest from my GA applications (after I'm invited) any quoted text of my posts will be edited also thus enabling me to remove any trace of my information.
In the same manner, an option to edit out info from any closed thread I replied to and from my introduction also.

Note, I'm not saying I want to be able to edit everything out, just to remove all the links.

Another thought, maybe make a simple script with admin privileges that can detect any links I posted and remove them from all of my posts ?

If the information that you provide is correctly edited then there is absolutely no need to delete anything, since there would be nothing to see that would incriminate you. As for your speed test - just exactly how many people live in the server area you choose, a few thousand? Seriously, there is absolutely no need to be paranoid about being a member here providing that you take a few simple measures to protect yourself such as, dont use the same name here, dont use the same email address on your trackers and leave a small but random delay when leaving an iGiver., oh and throughly check your invitee's :)

Please, lets not turn this into a major incident about security, its exactly what it is, a simple reminder :)

We should all read that first post twice. It's sage advice. It is all too easy to be complacent about this. Then wonder why we got banned at our favourite tracker for "no reason". This could happen to any of us if we don't use a little common sense. Things like using a different nick at every tracker are important.

Chances are you already know someone who has been disabled because of one of these reasons.
Don't let it happen to your tracker accounts.

How about just forbid 0% members to Area 51? Wouldn't that solve the problem?

Then how would you tempt new members to join our fantastic site? The whole idea of this site is to give people the opportunity to gain access to a world that would normally be closed to them and hopefully that's never going to change. Being able to see some of the invites that the great members here are willing to give at no cost, for free with no catches, with no trades is a massive incentive to many to join.

It takes two seconds for you guys to report a pm, the rest is done by the staff :)

Well this is a bad example, but I cannot think of another to prove my point.
Some adult sites password forum have a VIP area preview to encourage members to become VIP. I was thinking maybe we can have a 10% Area preview to encourage new members to get intro accepted.
