MyAnonamous -- the community

MyAnonamouse is one of the friendliest communities out there, a nice exception from many arrogant trackers where administrators and system operators rule like cocks who believe that the sun only rises to hear their crowing. Both Mice members and Mice staff will go out of their way to help people with their problems or with finding what they are looking for.

It can come as no surprise that maintaining a good ratio is extremely easy on MyAnonamouse, because it is made up of both a time- and a volume based component, meaning that even if you have a very slow connection and nobody ever downloads from you, users can meet their obligations by simply keeping the downloaded torrents for at least 72 hours after completion for torrents under 20 GB, or for five days in the case of bigger torrents. This makes MyAnonamouse a good place to start your adventurous journey in the world of private BitTorrent trackers, as it is next to impossible to screw up. On ElbitZ, for instance, another tracker with similar content but a stalinist regime, no time-based ratio component and not much support for newbies, it would be tremendously more difficult to stay out of trouble.

MyAnonamouse is a specialized tracker for eBooks and audio books in all kinds of formats, such as epub, mobi, .pdf, whathaveyou. You will find a broad spectrum of topics from cooking recipes, biographies and do-it-yourself guides to all genres of novels. The ladies will be glad to hear that there are tons of chick lit available, too. An area where more quantity would be desirable are guides and tutorials on subjects such as animal training, aviation or the like, but few people seem to care about these topics, unfortunately, so the loss is not felt by many.


MyAnonamous -- the GiveAway

Speed is not much of an issue for eBooks, and even audio book packages are seldom as fat as big graphics packages, movies or games. Consequently, speed tests are not necessary for this tracker, but if you can provide ratio proof of other trackers, that would not hurt. You might also want to specify your areas of interest, so I can briefly check if MyAnonamouse has what you are looking for or if you would be better off somewhere else. The intention behind this is that I require you to be active on the tracker, which you will only be if they have what you want.



Let me stress that again: if you do not intend to use the tracker, do not apply! I expect the account to be activated within three days, you are expected to down- and upload something within five days and from there on, at least two or three torrents per week. You are also required to seed everything for at least three full days after completion, better five. If you cannot or are not willing to do that, you will get banned over there and receive negative iGivers, etc., here.

The important thing to keep in mind on MyAnonamouse is to never, ever disconnect a torrent before having seeded it for the specified minimum duration. Since the relevant information is not displayed beneath your avatar and ratio, here is how to find out whether all is well with your accont in this regard.

After logging into your MA account, scroll down and look for «Details» below the «Profile» link:




Scrolling down on the following page, you will see an entry «snatched» and a little [+] sign; click on the latter:




As you can see, it is not necessary to have a volume-based ratio of 1:1 for every torrent, because the MyAnonamouse staff is aware of the fact that nowadays, upload capacity is not a bottleneck any more and that seeding supply far exceeds demand. The time-based component, however, must be balanced for each and every torrent. In other words, the colour in the left column is negligible, but every single torrent must be marked green or blue in the right column before disconnecting it:




In case you accidentally disconnected a torrent before it turned green, download it again and seed it for five days in order to avoid punishment for a Hit & Run. Once a torrent is displayed in green in the right column, you can disconnect, move or delete it safely. If you are ambitious to see your downloads displayed in blue, that requires seeding for 60 days.

Fulfilling the requirements in full is easier on MyAnonamouse than anywhere else, so there is absolutely no need or excuse for not having your account in good standing at all times.

Post your screenshots, etc. here; if you have any questions, just shoot. I am not specifying the number of invitations because if nobody comes up with a decent/funny/original/interesting application, the number will be zero. If several people show that they are nice members of the community, then none will be excluded and all will get a ticket, plus a little start-up help. If you ask what it is, go to the corner and be ashamed -- you wouldn't ask Santa Claus either, would you? ;)

I recently started a thread about looking for an educational tracker, and this seems to fit the bill, so would like an invite please. I'm also after magazines, but not sure if they're available on this tracker (stuff like new scientist, nat geo, time, etc.)

Till now, I was using only general trackers, and now I realize that I need a little more educational trackers. So this will be my perfect opportunity

No offense DeltaCore,

But here are a few observations that make me wonder whether it might not be a little early to let you loose on private trackers:

• All your posts are in the «Accepted» and «GiveAway» sub-fora only, not a single one demonstrates any attempt or intention of helping others with constructive, meaningful and noteworthy contributions.
• Repeated posts in the «Accepted» section were only necessary because you did not follow the instructions on how to provide the required information and answers properly. It was not just one issue, but several, which is nearly an art in itself, given the simplicity of the questions and the detailed and illustrated instructions that guide applicants through the process.
• All your other posts are in the «10% GiveAway» subsection and had to be edited by moderators, too, because you did not inform yourself before begging for invitations and failed to fulfill the requirements adequately again.
• In your introduction you mention that you are a member on four private trackers, but you do not bother to submit any ratio proof here. Yes, the description of this GiveAway expressed doing so as a «nice gesture» instead of an absolute condition, but don't you think a nice gesture would be in order when asking for an invitation?

Given all the above, how about you take a week or two to familiarize yourself a little with this forum, learn about proper netiquette and how things are done properly before collecting trackers left and right? Being able to pay attention to instructions and following them carefully is crucial for survival on most private trackers. Once you know your ways around, feel free to contact me again and I shall be glad to get you your mice. By the way: at the time of this writing, http://ElbitZ.net is open for registration. Get in there while you can but be very careful: that tracker is a stalinist gulag in comparison to MyAnonamouse.
